Hey, Big Movie Studios, Who Do You Think You Are?

There is no one more evil than big studios nowadays. Look at what writers and actors are going on strike, I can see Hollywood is coming to an end. The strike does not move the cold hearts of big bosses. I don’t know why big studios don’t want to pay the writers who are the most important element of every TV show and movie production.

The legendary film director Alfred Hitchcock once said. “To make a great film you need three things - the script, the script, and the script.” Hitchcock emphasized the essentials of the script on how it can make a movie. The director cannot do anything without a script because they don’t know what to direct. The actors cannot act without a script because they have no clue what the hell they are going to act. The production team cannot set up a scene, do VFX, design a costume, or prepare lightning or sound because they don’t know what the movie is about without a script. The mind and creativity of every writer in Hollywood have been proven by the quality of the movie and the TV show. Not only that, big studios also made a lot of money from their blockbuster movies and hit TV shows. They earned countless amounts of awards. So, whose achievements were that? The writer.

Now, big studios ignored them and refused to pay more. Many movies and TV shows are being put on hold because no one was there to write the script. But it is not enough to make big studios care. They only care about their profit. A big boss in Hollywood said that when the writers can no longer afford to pay their utilities, the strike will end. If that person really thinks so, then he knows nothing about the power of union. The union can create a significant change that his studio can never imagine. They are starting a fight to regain their benefit and change how those studios treat them. It is so sad to see the writers go on strike because I understand the dam has broken, and the trust in the movie studio is no longer there. The greed of big studios is a sign of dictatorship in Hollywood. They only want to get more money for themselves without giving back to people who helped them make profits. Can those big bosses write a script and direct a movie? Absolutely not.

In front of the big threat from movie studios, actors also go on strike. This is double damage for big studios. Who is going to act now? It is a big slap to those greedy bosses. The negotiation was fallen but the spirit will go on. But big studios don’t flinch. They have an Ace in their hands right now. It is AI. You see, AI can do so many things nowadays, and it is beginning to replace many roles of humans in this life. I used to write a post about ChatGPT, an AI product, on how it can threaten writing. Now, I still believe that the power of AI will get stronger than ever. Now, it can write. Soon, it can act. Later, it can direct a movie. No one knows. Since actors are on strike, big studios announce to scan actors’ faces and use them for AI, which means the face of that actor will be edited and appeared in a feature movie without paying a single dime. That is so BS. Would the audience like to watch AI act like a robot? I don’t. The only way to deal with this is paying the writers and actors fairly. They are the studios’ big sources. Stop being a greedy man and pay them. The strike in Hollywood may be the beginning for other strikes in other industries. The power of unions is strong so don’t think that they are not making any impact.
