This week in Analyzing Evil, I would like to introduce to you a very familiar face that used to be loved and admired by so many Hollywood stars. He made many actresses and actors reach their dreams and touched the Oscars. Every movie under his studio became a big hit at the box office and critically acclaimed. He could turn a low-budget movie into a masterpiece. I cannot deny that this man had a special talent in the movie industry. Whether he used a lot of money to manipulate Hollywood or he used his talents to make movies big, he left a significant impact on Hollywood. However, he lost everything and became a disgraced monster. He destroyed his legacy, he crushed his dreams, and he killed his studio.

This person sexually harassed and raped many women who were young and innocent at that time. Whoever disobeyed him fell into a blacklist, and they could not do anything and their career could not be blossomed because of this man. He was so angry. He ordered his “minions” to take vengeance on anyone who refused to sleep with him. It wasn’t until 2017. Rose McGowan began to speak up to expose this man. The New York Times reporters Megan Twohey, and Jodi Kantor, started their investigation into the misbehaviors in Hollywood, especially this man. Later, they wrote a book called "She Said" which was a best-selling book to talk about their journey in investigating this story. Their stories broke out, and the whole nation was shocked by what they read. Several women followed in their footsteps to speak out against this man. He denied everything, but there was no use. He used money and power to shut the mouths of every woman he slept with. Then, nothing ever happened, and people who got involved turned blind.

A brand new movement was born. It was called “MeToo,” which helped anyone who was sexually harassed in the workplace and supported them. From that, “Time’sUp” or “NeverAgain” appeared to raise awareness of the toxic working environment. Many men in the entertainment and news industries were exposed and accused of their misbehavior toward female employees. Whether it just began recently or happened long ago, they were all brought out to the lights. They had been quiet for so long, and now, this was the time for them to speak up. This man lost everything. His studio was bankrupted. He faced many charges of rape and sexual harassment. Now, he is in prison, serving 39 years in prison. Perhaps he won’t survive life in prison. This man was so vicious and so cruel. He didn’t do things that started from his heart. It started from the advantage that a woman could provide him. He thought of himself as a “Hollywood God” that was untouchable, and everyone must be scared of him. And they did. Come on, I bet that half of big Hollywood celebrities knew about his misbehaviors. They knew he raped those girls. But they said nothing because they didn’t want to destroy their blossoming careers. When he was exposed, they tuned in, showed their support, and acted like they didn’t know anything. At the 2018 Golden Globes, celebrities wore black to express their sincerity about the misfortunate event in Hollywood. Looking at them made me feel like there was a funeral there. Indeed, the funeral of a Hollywood mogul.

It was also the beginning of the age of cancel culture. Today, anyone who does anything wrong to society or speaks stupid things will be canceled after one night. Soon, I feel like the MeToo movement had changed its purpose from the beginning. It started to become a launching base for anyone who wanted to be famous in Hollywood. Instead of talking to the police, they talked to the press and the media. There was no evidence based on what those accusers said. I don’t know. Return to the disgraced monster. He is right now paying an expensive price for what he did. I hope he dies in prison. Men like him, Donald Trump, Jeffrey Epstein, Matt Lauer, R. Kelly, Kevin Spacey, James Franco, Bill O’Reilly, and so on, should be punished and taken responsibility for their actions. After all, they are evil.
