Oscar Wilde used to say, “Memory is the diary that we all carry about with us.” Each of us has memories; among those memories, we have the best one. In my life, I have so many memories; some are bad, some are good. But I have one memory that I remember and never forget. Back in Vietnam, I dreamed of going to Hollywood one day to see how they make movies. And a dream came true. When I first came to America, I had a chance to go to Universal Studio Hollywood, one of the best memories of my life.

Me and my mom at the Universal Studios
Universal Studios Hollywood is one of my favorite theme parks that I have visited. It is a famous place in Los Angeles with many beautiful views and mystery rides to explore. I went there with my family, and that trip marked the most memorable experience of my youth. It was a fabulous sunny day in 2016 after New Year’s Eve three days. My first impression of Universal Studios was how vast it was of the amusement park. Even though the tickets were a little bit expensive for me, since everything was so fancy and adorable, it was worth our money. Passing through the door was a new world with many famous cartoon characters walking around and waving their hands to welcome and show how friendly they were to the visitors. But what got my attention a lot was a giant globe with the logo “Universal Studios Hollywood,” which created a magnificent and luxurious look.
Standing in front of the globe, I felt like I am in the world of Hollywood with many famous celebrities and walking on the red carpet with them, and welcome to Hollywood. This area was where people gathered to take pictures and show everyone else they had been visiting Universal Studios. Many sounds appeared while I was walking on the street, including music, people talking and laughing, and the workers were introducing the audience’s most exciting points of their film ride. I could hear the sounds of joy, cheering, and happiness of people. At that moment, I thought Universal Studio was the happiest place on earth. The street looked lovely and clean, and many costumed people walked around to take pictures with the visitors. They were familiar to everyone because they once saw them in the movies. The service was outstanding, a bunch of items with adorable decorations that we could buy as a gift for our friends or family. All streets are full of people walking around in happiness and laughing.
Universal Studios was the epitome of a utopian amusement park with many 3D and 4D rides. Because I loved Minion so much, I decided to join the “Despicable Me Minion Mayhem” ride, which was terrific. I felt I was being a minion because what I saw was so realistic. I could smell the steam inside the room when I started the ride. It smelled like fruits. Then, I went to the World of Harry Potter, where the magic came true. While I was walking through the hall of Hogwarts, I could touch all the exhibitions that they once appeared in the movie. That was so cool.
The Studios Tour was the best ride from my perspective because it had many different shows for the visitors, including the “King Kong 360 3D” and “Fast and Furious-Supercharged,” which was so amazing and a little scary to me because everything looked real. We went through the place where they shot famous movies of all time. From the studio set of “Jaws” to “How Grinch Stole Christmas,” from a horrible accident in “ War of The World” to the horror nightmare of Bate Motel in “Psycho.” That was amazing and blew our minds. We also got opportunities to learn more about how Hollywood made movies with many spectacular scenes and amazing special effects. I found this interesting because I am inquisitive and always curious about how Hollywood producers create their movie scenes; that was such an awesome chance to explore and experience with a professional instructor. After the tour, we took pictures in Hollywood font. After the ride, I went to eat. I tried turkey leg. It was so delicious and juicy. It tasted like BBQ, but you wanted more when you took the first bite.
That was the best memory of my life. I feel like it was just yesterday. Hollywood is my inspiration. Their movies inspired me in real life. Their stories helped me to define myself again. And I will never forget that most memorable trip and memory of my life.
