I Believe In My Faith

On my working desk, there is much-unorganized paperwork. I’m too “lazy” to do so because I am too busy with other stuff and there is no time to clean up. Even when I have time, I just want to do something else. But there is an area that I always keep clean and tidy which is a whiteboard hanging on the wall in front of my working desk. There is a photo of Bodhisattva, the Goddess of Mercy in Buddhism.

I am a good Buddhist and have a strong belief in Bodhisattva and Her halo. This photo is given to me by a grandmaster of a temple. He did the chanting and made the photo become real. I read the Buddha chant every night to find peace and easier to sleep.

Every time I lose hope or need help or struggle in life, I turn to Bodhisattva and pray. I say the chanting, maintain peace, and bring in my belief in Buddha. And just like that, she welcomes the Buddha into her life. The photo of Bodhisattva has told about my personality. I am a good Buddhist. Whenever it is the first day or the fifteenth of the moon calendar, or special occasions like Buddha’s birthday or Tet or events at the temple, I go with my family to the temple. We do all of that beginning from our conscience. One thing that I’ve learned from Buddha is that no matter what happens, you must always have a conscience inside you.

When I am looking at the image of Bodhisattva, She reminds me that I must always be kind, endure, and be merciful. I practice every day because I understand that without those characteristics, the life of a person will never be peaceful. Also, every good thing I have done in life is a virtue for my children and grandchildren in the future.
