After much speculation, on April 25, President Joe Biden officially announced that he is seeking a second consecutive term at 81. If re-elected in the 2024 presidential election, Mr. Biden will be the oldest president ever in American history.

Biden enters the 2024 election with a substantial legislative record but a low approval rating, which is a conundrum that advisers to the incumbent US President have so far been unable to answer. Besides, as the oldest President in American history, Joe Biden will likely continue to face worrying questions about his age.

In a video showing a crowd of Trump supporters storming the Capitol on January 6, 2021, President Biden declared the "fight for American democracy" to be the job of his first term. his predecessor.

However, that mission is still incomplete when Biden's predecessor is campaigning to return to the White House.

The current president described it as a danger to America and called on the people to join him in his mission to protect the country's democracy.

“But, you know, around the country, MAGA extremists are lining up to take those bedrock freedoms,” Biden said, using the Make America Great Again slogan to describe Trump’s little “minions.”

“When I ran for president four years ago, I said we were in a battle for the soul of America,” Biden said in the announcing video. “And we still are.”

Biden's aides have revealed his decision to run for re-election was partly motivated by his aversion to Trump, and his belief that he is the best Democrat to prevent the former president from taking back the White House.

Biden has appointed Julie Chavez Rodriguez, a senior White House adviser, as campaign manager and deputy Quentin Fulks.

Biden's strategy is to shape the race for the White House as a contest between a seasoned leader and a conspiracy-minded opposition.

If Biden and Trump go head-to-head again next year, it will be the first time the same candidates have faced each other in consecutive presidential elections since 1956. The president has been challenged by his predecessor since 1912. We will see what happens.
