Truss = trust. Meaning they believe in Liz Truss. But Truss could not be trusted anymore.

The slogan "In Liz, they Truss" became widely popular after Liz Truss was selected for the position of the U.K Prime Minister after her predecessor, Boris Johnson, announced his resignation.

When Truss came to power, one thing was considered to predict that her day at 10 Downing Street would not be long: that the majority of British people did not know who she was or did not understand what she was doing. Plus, her confidence in the British government is not much higher than that of Boris Johnson.

Truss is expected to be a second Margaret Thatcher, the first female British Prime Minister in history with the nickname "The Iron Lady". But Truss could not meet those expectations because she did not have the courage and determination to steer the British boat out of the mire of the recession.

On October 20, according to the UK time, Truss announced her resignation from the position of Prime Minister after 6 weeks in power and that made her the shortest person in British history. But she will probably be remembered as the fastest "U-turner" because, in a meeting in the British Parliament, Truss eloquently declared she was a fighter, not a quitter. The next day, she announced her resignation, contrary to what she had said earlier.

Truss' resignation is the result of her failure to map out good strategies and visions for the now-dangerous British economy and her leadership in the British Parliament.

Indeed, the UK is facing the worst economic situation in 40 years when inflation is at 10.1% and there is no sign of stopping, the value of the British pound sterling is depreciating by 24%, and followed by rapidly rising commodity prices.

Those dilemmas are putting Britain in a bad situation and there have been expectations that Truss will be able to solve the problems.

The Truss administration has proposed a "mini-budget" plan to save the economy. The administration will cut taxes to 19% and help energy prices by exempting energy companies from taxes after Russia cut off all of Europe's gas and plunged European countries into an energy crisis. This "mini-budget" plan sounds small, but the consequences are not mini at all because it accidentally sent the pound sterling to its lowest level against the dollar in decades. And possibly bankrupt the UK.

Not only that, Truss' plan of offering £105 billion in tax cuts and increased spending without a plan to pay for it, has caused concern in financial markets recently and an increase in public debt.

More gasoline is pouring into the burning of crisis.

With only 45 days as prime minister, Truss has caused many cabinets in the party to resign. They, from supporting her, turned against Ms. Truss's irrational policies. After Kwasi Kwarteng, the former Chancellor of the Exchequer appointed by Truss resigned after 38 days, Jeremy Hunt filled in the seat. In front of the economy on thin ice and Truss’ resignation, the pressure on Hunt’s shoulder is greater than ever because he had to find out the best solution to save the current economy before it was too late. But it will be very hard and soon or late, Hunt will resign too.

It can be seen that Truss inherited the not-so-positive "legacy" of Boris Johnson. Johnson resigned to find someone who could fix his mistakes or continue to carry on them. And Truss is the one who continues to carry on Johnson's mistakes and make more mistakes that are enough to destroy Britain.

Truss' resignation and her misguided policies have greatly affected the confidence in the Conservative leadership in the UK Parliament.

Keir Starmer, the Leader of the British Labor party, said in his statement that under the current Conservative leadership, Britain needed a new start and the need for a general election to rebuild the country and fix the mistakes of the Conservative Party.

Indeed, Liz Truss's inability to lead the country because of the lack of strategic vision as well as the trust of the people and the cabinet has led to the making of Truss's disappointed policies. The British Prime Minister's seat is still waiting for a successor. However, those who sit in that chair must understand that the interests of the country and people must always come first and taking that as a guideline to make positive plans for the country.
