Movie Week #7: Downton Abbey: A New Era: Enter A New Era

Downton Abbey is one of my favorite TV shows. It is a historical series about the lives of the British aristocratic Crawley family and their servants in the early twentieth century. This drama invited me to a party with the British, explored their lives in the 20th century, and felt like I am one of them. For a long time, I have been in love with the British accent, which to me is so charming and so lovely.

Now, the creator of Downton Abbey wrote a screenplay for Downton Abbey in a motion picture. Downton Abbey: A New Era. This is the second film after the first one in 2019. The second film continues the drama inside Downton Abbey with the relationships between each character and new secrets are about to reveal. Downton Abbey: A New Era, just like its name, brings the audience back in time where talkie movies began, to the beautiful sceneries of Paris, to the age of jazz. It is just too perfect. The plot is simple but it can still keep the audience watching without missing a scene. The acting is superb like it always is. Since this movie is a follow-up to the TV series but you don’t need to watch the entire series to understand what happens in Downton Abbey: A New Era. You can watch the movie and still get what’s inside it. But I recommend you to watch the series because it is so good. Highly recommended.
