I have always admired Latino cultures because they are so special and so unique. A few years ago, Coco had taken away a lot of tears from me with a story about family, about love between family members, and about a respectful tradition “Dia De Los Muertos”. It was amazing in every way.

Now, Disney takes the audience to Columbia to meet a family where every member is like a superhero with special abilities. They are blessed with a gift and they often help everyone inside their village. The movie I am talking about is Encanto.

Unlike Coco, Encanto has a way of storytelling that doesn’t have a climax, it doesn’t have villains. Everything that happens in this movie is slow but steady so that the audience can realize that it doesn’t need any other elements to add to the conflict of Encanto. The real problem is inside the family where a girl named Maribel is different from other family members because she does not have any power. She is being outcasted. But the thing is that this family represents every family in society right now where they have great expectations of others and are forced to be good or better. They cannot live the way they want. Even Maribel does not have any special power but she is the savior of the family which saved the magic hidden inside.

From Encanto, everyone can see themselves inside Maribel or any characters. They are the true reflection of how we are living right now. Encanto, once again, has put the family first and shown how important it is for anyone to love their family more. The music in Encanto is so good and so catchy. You should listen. Highly recommend.
