I Want to Talk About a Sensitive Topic

The Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade on June 24th, 2022. It had created an outrage among every woman and abortion rights activist around the country. They protested in front of the Supreme Court and demanded justice. Among them, there are many anti-abortion protestors too. It is a war on women’s bodies. It has taken me a while to think of women’s rights in America. Or, more simply, the role of women in America.

The overturn had drawn a big attention from everyone and made me ask a question. “What will be the future for a woman?” Well, it’s very difficult to answer because everyone has their own opinions and their own point of view on this overturning Roe v. Wade.
Women have been fighting for their rights for so many years. The right to vote, the right to do things, the right to choose, the right to get better paid, the right to define who they are, and the right to live. Women are powerful, smart, and beautiful, and men should have respect for them. For a long time, the woman always stayed behind her husband and was just a shadow in his life. All they could do was care for the family, clean the house, and be a good wife. It is the story of the past. Now, women have defined their position in society, and women have won to show men that they are nothing different than men and even better than that.
But the government has not yet given women the right to do whatever they want with their bodies. It is still under the control of manipulated men and unconstitutional laws.
In 1973, Roe v. Wade became a huge achievement for every woman because, for the first time ever, the law gave women the freedom to not only get an abortion but also the freedom to their bodies. In conclusion, Justice Harry Blackmun delivered the opinion for the 7-2 majority of the Court that “The Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment protects against state action the right to privacy, and a woman’s right to choose to have an abortion falls within that right to privacy. A state law that broadly prohibits abortion without respect to the stage of pregnancy or other interests violates that right.”
Nearly half a century later, the Roe v. Wade landmark is out of the game forever, meaning women’s freedom will be taken away forever. It is so vile, so vicious, and so vanity. Who gave them the right to treat a woman like that?
Let’s talk about rape, a sensitive topic that no one wants to discuss, but it should be brought up. Some unwanted pregnancies start from raping, of which the rate is 5.0% per rape among victims of reproductive age from 12 to 45, among adult women, an estimated 32,101 pregnancies result from rape each year, according to the National Library of Medicine. Only 11.7% of these victims received immediate medical attention after the assault, and 47.1% received no medical attention related to the rape. Take a moment to let that statistic sink inside. Women are raped by horrible men who cannot keep themselves from their desire.
There is a prevalent thing in every unwanted pregnancy caused by rape that society will always criticize the woman first because having pregnant when they have not been married is like a big sin. Then, they often accuse the rapist, or sometimes they don’t because it is not essential. It is very vulnerable. The sentence for a rapist is not deserved for what they have done to the innocent girl or woman. Some of them even could get away with what they did. After all, the pain belongs to the woman. They can’t even care for themselves or protect themselves in front of danger. So how can they raise a baby on their own? Abortion is an act of self-defense that protects a woman’s future from being shut down.
They have dreams, they have plans, they have careers. Society only knows how to diss women on not knowing how to protect themselves from abuse and rape. Then, they will throw innocent women a cold look as if they committed a forbidden sin or they are such a shame. It is so unfair. No laws forbids the men from doing with their bodies, and yet, why must women be?
Banning abortion and making it illegal is a big failure in U.S. laws. I will break the fourth wall right now.
Having a baby and being a mom is the most beautiful thing in this world. They can feed the baby, take good care of them, talk to them when they need it, and watch them growing. It would be so happy. But there are some who have not been ready to be a mother yet, they want to focus on something else to pursue and I know it would be hard for me to say this and it would be a controversy. That unwanted fetus inside their womb would be a significant obstacle for a woman. If they want to get rid of it, let them do it without any interference of men and laws. They must have been thinking a lot of about this and finally, they came up with their final decision to keep or not keep the baby. That is their choice, and please, respect those choices. You have the choice to not get the COVID vaccine or not wear a mask. You get angry, you protest. Women should have the choice to get an abortion too. It is equality. It is freedom. Women should be free to control their bodies, and whoever tells them what to do and demands them, shut the hell up.
